Sustainability Assistant
Location: Wednesbury/Birmingham
Working Schedule: Monday – Friday 37.5hours
Salary: £23,000-£28,000 + Bonus

The Role
Assist the Sustainability Manager in driving forward the divisional sustainability strategy and critical success factors with the support of OPCO management teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with purchasing, sourcing and suppliers to verify environmental claims in line with Green Claims Code

• Support sales teams by compiling resources, data and reports for customers

• Write PR/Blogs to share with Trade Press & social media

• Carry out administrative tasks to support the progression of projects and maintenance of the Sustainability Through Safety™ toolkit

• Research the latest issues and developments in sustainability

• Work closely with relevant Bunzl colleagues to support the implementation of sustainability strategy across the businesses

• Collect and process supplier data on key product sustainability attributes

Your skills
A working knowledge on the key current sustainability issues
Minimum Level 4 qualification in Sustainability or similar subject
Experience in sustainability-related role advantageous but not required
Experience in communications, such as blogs and newsletters, advantageous but not required
Experience in communicating difficult subjects
